Sound familiar?

If any of these ring a bell, you're in the right place. This is exactly what we take off your plate.

  • A cab full of fuel receipts, and a quarterly IFTA return due
  • Not sure what you can claim for meals on the road
  • Drivers paid by the mile, and payroll that eats your weekends
  • Settlements, fuel cards and factoring that never quite reconcile
  • Wondering whether you should incorporate, or whether you set it up right
  • Your accountant asks what a reefer is

What we take off your plate

We handle it, start to finish

IFTA fuel-tax returns

We track fuel and distance by jurisdiction and prepare your quarterly IFTA returns, so you're not rebuilding a quarter from a stack of receipts.

Meals, per-diem & travel

Long-haul drivers have their own rules for meal claims. We make sure you claim what you're entitled to and keep the records to back it up.

Trucks, trailers & equipment

Purchases, leases and depreciation on rigs and trailers set up correctly from the start, and planned ahead of year-end.

Driver payroll

Mileage, trip or hourly pay, per-diem arrangements, remittances, ROEs and T4s, run on your schedule.

Employee or contractor?

How you engage drivers matters to the CRA. We'll help you set it up properly and keep the paperwork that supports it.

Monthly books & year-end

Settlements, fuel cards and loads reconciled every month, then financial statements and your corporate or personal return at year-end.

IFTA for Alberta carriers: records, returns and common mistakes

If your trucks cross provincial or state lines, IFTA decides how much fuel tax each jurisdiction gets. Here's who needs a licence, how the quarterly return works, the records that protect you in an audit, and the mistakes we see most.

Common questions

Do you only work with Alberta carriers?

Alberta is home, but we work with trucking companies across Canada, entirely online if you like.

I'm an owner-operator. Should I incorporate?

Sometimes it makes sense and sometimes it doesn't. It depends on your income, how you're contracted and your plans. We'll walk through the numbers with you before you decide.

Can you take over from my current bookkeeper partway through the year?

Yes. We'll pick up where they left off and clean up anything that needs it.

Do you set up QuickBooks for trucking?

Yes. We build the file around trucks, loads, fuel and jurisdictions, so the numbers you need for IFTA and year-end are always there.

Darrell is amazing, he has done an outstanding job on my taxes for my business and personal. I have sent coworkers and friends his way and everyone has been very happy with his services.
